Annual California Gray Whale Migration

Posted By: Ani Harbottle

The beautiful views of the west coast line not only attract people, it also attracts whales, especially this time of year. Providing one of the most spectacular and beautiful views, the annual California gray whale migration is soon to make place. Generally it takes place between April and May, so keep a look out for those gray whales. It is common to see maybe three or more cruising along the coast. (But bring your binoculars just in case). Good piers to go to include Newport pier and Balboa pier. If you don’t think you will have any luck on the shore and you want to take it to the water, there are often whale watching boats that can take you out. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity. It can be such a magical thing to see something so majestic and huge right outside your door… so to speak.
