The Newport Sports Museum is a wonderful non-profit museum. Started 20 years ago by John Hamilton the goal was to encourage at-risk youth to participate is sports instead of gangs or drugs. This wonderful organization is supported by a team of volunteer who work in partnership with C.A.R.E. for Kids, Career Choices, Sport Yourself and the Legacy Leadership Program. The Museum has over 10,000 items from all types of athletes from all over the world. Open Monday-Saturday, 10am to 5pm, The Newport Sports Museum is located across from Fashion Island is a perfect place to take the sports lover in your life!
