The J. Paul Getty Museum

For just a short drive to L.A.  on a day trip, you can discover one of the highest quality collections of art work at the Getty Museum.  After spending the greater part of a day at the Getty, I was able to see art ranging from Renaissance paintings and sculptures of the 15^th century to Impressionist works of art from the 20^th century, and everything in between.  Some of the museum’s most famous artists include: Titian, Vigee-Le-Brun, Jan Steen, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, and Turner (just to name a few).  I visited the museum in late July, and was able to see the (now ended) Paris: Life and Luxury exhibition.  And WOW, it was beautiful.  Now, the museum is offering the very intriguing “Luminous Paper: British Watercolors and Drawings” exhibit.  Check out the Garden Terrace Cafe for lunch, or pick up a gourmet picnic lunch and have a picnic at the very scenic picnic area.  You might even be able to catch a glimpse of some deer!
