Portola Coffee Lab
To some people, getting their coffee order just right is as exact as science. Well, at the Portola Coffee Lab, that is precisely the case. Located on Hyland Avenue in Costa Mesa, this “coffee lab” is something you need to experience. For one thing, coffee is brewed like a science experiment. We’re talking beakers, test tubes, and baristas in lab coats. But they are also extremely friendly and Portola is very inviting…though it seems to have a reputation of being somewhat of a ‘hipster central.’ All of the drinks are raved about, but my favorites are the Chocolate Ganache Mocha and the vanilla latte. They also have fantastic sandwiches, like their caprese with goat cheese, and fresh, delicious pastries like macaroons, croissants, etc. You’ll love the experience, enjoy!
